Find Your Own Way...
Like the women warriors of old Japan- the onna-bugeishas, your strength is not found in force alone, but in steadiness, awareness, and self-mastery. These women trained body and mind together, living by the principles of Bushidō: honour, courage, discipline, and deep respect for life.
My name is Liz, and my work is devoted to guiding women back into this same grounded strength, where body, mind, and emotions move in harmony. With years of experience as a therapist and mental health practitioner, my approach is rooted in both professional understanding and a deep respect for the body’s innate wisdom. Like the warrior’s path, this work is about learning to listen, refine, and trust what already lives within you.
Alongside my clinical work, my background in Anthropology and specialised study in Japanese culture has deeply shaped how I understand wellbeing, identity, and resilience. My personal development has been informed by Buddhist practice, particularly its emphasis on awareness of thought patterns, attachment, impermanence and stillness amongst the chaos. These perspectives are woven together with psychotherapeutic techniques, allowing ancient wisdom and modern psychology to meet. Within my sessions, this may take the form of working skilfully with thought patterns, cultivating emotional awareness, and applying practical tools rooted in Buddhist ideals such as presence and intentional action—always in a way that is accessible, grounded, and relevant to your everyday life.
True wellbeing is not about fixing what is broken, but about restoring alignment. In the way of the female warrior, our work begins with awareness, knowing when to act, when to rest, and where and when to place boundaries in your life and stand firm. Through a gentle, person-centred approach, we create space to understand what your body is communicating, uncover the causes of imbalance, and rebuild trust in your own inner guidance. Nothing is ignored and every part of you is welcomed.
I support women experiencing identity and relationship challenges, stress, emotional overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, and hormonal imbalance. I am particularly passionate about women’s hormonal health and cyclical wellbeing, helping women understand their natural rhythms and work with them rather than against them. Just as traditional female warriors trained in harmony with the seasons and their bodies, we explore how your hormones influence energy, mood, emotions, and sense of self. I am experienced in supporting women with issues relating to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Endometriosis and the Menopause.
Our work begins with attentive listening and respect for your unique experience. From there, I offer personalised, holistic support that may include specific therapeutic techniques, nourishing nutritional guidance, mindful movement and tailored exercise, breath work, emotional regulation practices, and tools to calm the nervous system and restore balance. This integrative approach builds not only relief from symptoms but long term resilience, clarity and embodied confidence.
Sessions are available both remotely and in person. Face-to-face appointments, subject to availability, are held at the Soul Spa in Bath.
